Ted Pendergrass has been teaching since 1985 and came to Taft High in 2005. Since 2010, he has been serving as the Coordinator of the Academy. His wife Angela Pendergrass also teaches at the Academy. Their two sons, Austin and Luke, attended the Academy and then went on to Texas A&M for higher education. Austin graduated in 2021 with a Master of Science degree in Engineering and Luke is a senior working on a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management. Ted and Angela’s daughter, Rylie, attends Rio Bravo Greeley and plans on going to Taft High to follow her brothers in entering the Academy and going to Texas A&M. Outside of Oil Tech, Ted has many interests- including horses, dogs, camping, fishing, woodworking, and auto mechanics. Bringing students, parents, teachers and the community together by being a part of Oil Tech has been one of the most fulfilling experiences he has had teaching. Ted considers it an honor to serve in his position working with great students, supportive parents and generous business partners.
